I liked the anime a lot! But i can't say the same for the OVAs.

The first OVA was very confusing, and i didn't know what was happening until i read the synopsis from wiki, and even so, i still don't understand the meaning of the whole thing lol

The second OVA was better, at least i know what was happening. BUT they had Tamahome reincarnated as Taka, and then Tamahome reappeared again, claiming that sukuza woke him up from his deep slumber cause Taka will not last long. But Taka is supposed to be the reincarnation of Tamahome, so his soul should be in Taka now so how can Taka exist if tamahome was only in slumber?!!! And then Tamahome became the bad guy and started attacking Taka and Miaka but Taka still can absorb him and the jewels with "tamahome's" memories inside. But i thought THAT tamahome was just a creation from the bad dude with the real tamahome's memories inside? Im really confused about that part LOL And then there's that part where Miaka said, "IT TOOK ME ONE WHOLE MONTH BEFORE I STARTED CALLING HIM TAKA INSTEAD OF TAMAHOME, HE IS THE ONE I AM DRAWN TO NOW!!!!" so what, she got over Tamahome and fell in love with Taka, who is tamahome's reincarnation, without the memories and experience as a celestial warrior? Another grey area there.

The third OVA was better than the first one but the new heroine was very unlikable LOL She was totally psycho, living in her own delusional lies LOL I understood the whole thing except the part where Nuriko stated that it was Miaka who sent her baby and Mayo(new girl) to save the world oO Ahwell.

If they wanted Tamahome reincarnated as Taka, i would rather watch an OVA about how Taka and Miaka met and fell in love, again. I know Taka looks exactly like Tamahome, and technically he IS tamahome, but Taka didn't have Tamahome's memories at first! So they can't just meet, and then boom, together! You know.

Sigh, i wished the anime ended with Miaka living her life with the ORIGINAL Tamahome in the book, or the ORIGINAL Tamahome somehow found a way to survive in the real world. Just you know, MiakaxORIGINALTamahome, not reincarnated tamahome taka, then there wouldn't be such a grey area LOL

Okay, enough about the OVAs, now about the anime..

Did i ever mention that i had the same fantasy about wat happened to Miaka happening to me while i work at Kino? HAHAHA I would be working at Kino, discover a mysterious book, open it and get sucked into another dimension and go on adventures and fall in love and blahblahblah. HAHAHAH Anyway...

I found the first episode very stupid LOL But as you watch, the characters really grow on you. I like the MiakaxTama pairing, but i felt sorry for Hotohori. All his life, he thought that the Suzaku no Miko (Miaka) would save him from his loneliness as the emperor and love him for him and not as an emperor, and when she finally appears, he falls in love with her, but she falls in love with another (Tama)! But despite knowing that, he still loved, care and supported her wholeheartedly, and was willing to give up his life to keep the both of them together. Even though i still think he could have kept his life -_-

And then there's Nuriko, the comical Okama HAHAHAH I really cried when he/she died man! It was so sad okay!!! As a woman, he was in love with Hotohori, and as a man, he was in love with Miaka, even though the way he treated her was very brotherly lol And like Hotohori, he would die to keep the both of them together. One good thing about the third OVA was that they had Nuriko reincarnated as a girl, and like in his/her past life, she was still drawn to the reincarnated Hotohori hahaha i found that really sweet.

Chiriko and Mitsukake was kinda the main characters, but didn't have as much screen time as the rest LOL I know that Chiriko is supposed to be a super genius, but even without his celestial power he is still a genius right? So what's his real power? Well he did sacrifice his life for them, at the young age of 13!!! And then there's Mitsukake and his love story with Shoko, lol and in the 3rd OVA, they were reincarnated to be together again! Except Mitsukake is now younger then shoko hahahahha

Chichiri and Tasuki, the only ones among the 7 celestial warriors to survive LOL I like Chichiri, he seems to be the only one among them to have a special power you know. And he always kept that smiling face. Tasuki was very inuyasha-ish LOL Loud and impatient and ruddy, but quite likable la lol

As for Tamahome and Miaka, lol Lets see. Miaka confessed to him, tama rejected. Miaka returned to the real world for awhile, tama was love sick. Miaka came back to save Yuui and cause she missed Tama, tama realised his feelings for Miaka but she found out Yuui was in love with him too and decided to give up cause she didn't want to fight Yuui. Tama got his feelings out to Miaka, she gave in and accepted, he promised to stay by her side always. But then Yuui's side threaten to harm a few more of their villages unless Tamahome surrenders himself. Despite promising Miaka to stay by her side always, Tama left and went to Yuui. Tama got drugged and controlled by Nakago, hurt Miaka and tore their love letter when she went to save him. Realising that Tama is no longer tama, she said goodbye, gave up and almost decided to fall in love with Hotohori instead, until Tama appeared at their palace to kill Miaka. Tama was injured by Hotohori, and while he was weakened the drug's effect weakened and Miaka's voice got through to him and he finally became himself again. Now that the 7 celestial warriors are present, they tried to summon suzaku except they can't because one of them was a fake. There was another way but Taiitsukun asked Miaka to abandon their love and remain a virgin until Suzuka is summoned. Tama proposed, Miaka rejected and told him the reason, Tama said that when Suzuka is summoned, he would make her the happiest bride on earth LOL They then set out on their journey to get the watever crap to summon Suzuka. After getting the first one and losing it, Miaka got tricked by the enemy and went to enemy territory. Thinking she was raped by Nakago, she started running away from Tama again, cause she thinks she doesn't deserve him. When she was told she wasn't raped, she ran back to Tama, tama got hurt but still managed to save her. They went to the second place, Tama gave her a kiss and tell her they can't be together again, cause his teacher said they can never consumate their love. Miaka didn't want to give up, Tama decided he will create a miracle for them to be together. Yuui and gang summoned Seiryuu, after sealing Suzaku she wished for her and Miaka to go back to the real world, but tama got dragged along. Realising that tama cannot exist in the real world, her brother requested him to go back to the book, Miaka realised wat was happening and stopped him before he leaves. They "got married", tama left to fight Nakago, they finally won but tama still couldn't exist in the real world and went back to the book. He reincarnated with his memories intact and be with Miaka. One year later, Tama got sucked into the book again, and was told he didn't belong to the real world. He got the 7 jewels of memories, left his memories in them and reincarnated as Taka to be with Miaka. They got together again, got sucked into the book again and now Taka has to retrieve the jewels with Tamahome's memories in them. He sort of managed, they got married and had a kid,

FINALLY. Feels like a cat and mouse game hor? They have so many obstacles its crazy LOL Like i said, i support the pairing but would have preferred another ending. Anyway, Miaka in the OVAs was slightly different from the Miaka in the anime, she seemed quieter, more mature, boring blah.

Okay im done ranting about the whole thing. There's another version of the manga but it's licenced!!!!
