Track and Field

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

I went for track&field after all, even though someone ps-ed me. Nigel came, though abit late but he had his reasons. Come to think of it, he's always been there for me on my CCA adventures LOL We joined 5ccas together last year too, and then quit 1 by 1 together LOL He's like my CCA-buddy HAHAHA

Anyway track started off with 2rounds round the track. I went from the middle all the way to the back hahahha I didn't stop lo! I just have shorter legs so people start overtaking me one by one hahaha But if we had ran 1 more round, i would have collapse! 2rounds, 800m is my limit hahaha Ehhh but not bad for someone who hasn't exercised for 1year!

After the running we did some stretching and then ice-breaker games, which consisted of whacko, this game where you have to grab an orange with your mouth from a pail of water and then a sweet from a tray of flour, and then captain's ball. I've never liked captain's ball. It's a game where i never get the ball LOL

Speaking of balls, i'm very lucky today. Yes i didn't get to touch the ball throughout the whole game of captain's ball, but i did get hit by the rugby and then a soccer ball. LOL How nice is that?

So after that there was a mini-tryout session for high-jump and long-jump. I crashed and burnt at both events. And then there was "obstacle course" LOL where we roll the medicine ball until a white line and then go under the hurdles till the other side. It was easy for me since i'm short and i didn't have to bend a lot LOL And then there's relay. Our team was last HAHAHAHHA Eh we were already the last when my teammate got to me (im the third runner) so it's not my fault. And out of all the third runners, I'm the shortest and all of them are so tall, there's even a guy whose 1.9m!!! So you see, i have my limitations :P

Next monday's training consist of abit of ice-breaking games and try outs. I'm thinking of which event to go for. High-jump/Long-jump/whatever jump is definitely out of the question. I wanted hurdles but the hurdles are almost as tall as me hahah so i don't see how i can jump over them unless they're lower? And running. Short distance means sprinting. I don't know if i can sprint, cause the only time i sprint is while catching for the bus, and i don't time myself. Then there's middle-distance running (600m-3km?) which im seriously considering. I simply don't have the stamina for long-distance so..

Look, I'm not going competitively okay. I just wanna exercise and keep fit and raise my stamina, since it's one of my NY resolution this year. Also, if i exercise, i can feel less guilty about eating too much sometimes LOL And i wanna convert my fats into muscles. I have fat thighs, i hate them, so yah. SLIM DOWN!!! And this is a healthier way compared to skipping my meals cause i get hungry easily at times. :)

So yah that's all for today. I know you find it unbelievable for me to join track&field,(if you asked me last year, i would be like, "you want me die ah?", soyah),believe me, me too LOL

So now the question is, how long can i last?

As long as possible, i hope. *gulp*
